Missouri
Effective January 1, 2023, Missouri state law (HB 2168) lets the Division of Employment Security (DES) redirect monies from employers liable for first quarter unemployment insurance contributions to the Unemployment Automation Fund.
The Unemployment Automation Fund provides funding for automated systems, and associated costs, to improve the administration of the state's UI program. The annual automation adjustment amount is calculated based on 0.020% of an employer's total taxable wages for the 12-month period ending the preceding June 30. Each employer responsible for paying contributions will be notified of the redirected amount from the taxes paid by March 31.
Note: No action will be taken by Vertex to calculate the Automation Fund because it is based on previous taxable wages and not calculated on current wages being paid.
