As of version 14.2, the background check provider, PeopleG2, integrates with Avionté's core application via the plugin method.

Note: Before integrating Avionté's software with PeopleG2's employee screening service, your company must have a contract with PeopleG2 regarding what services they will provide.

Note: Prior to installation, contact Avionté to request the integration be made available in your Avionté system.



PeopleG2 Plugin Setup

The following steps illustrate how to install and configure the plugin after it has been made available in your system. Prior to this, you must contact Avionté to request this plugin be made available for your system and sign a contract with PeopleG2 as the background check provider.

  • Note: The setup process for PeopleG2 plugin requires the entry of credentials obtained from PeopleG2. Please contact PeopleG2 to acquire usernames, passwords, Package IDs, and Package Names. Avionté does not have access to this information until it has been manually entered into the system. 


Install/Activate the Plugin

Install and activate the PeopleG2 integration within the Background Check Plugins section in Admin Tools.

  1. From the Start Page, select Admin Tools. 

    • Note: Admin Tools can be accessed from the Actions Menu, Shortcuts, or Ctrl + L.

  2. From the Admin Tools Main page, double-click Background Check Plugins.

    • The Background Check Plugins section will display with a list of background check providers.

  3. Click Install in the Plugin column of the provider's row. When the word "Uninstall" appears in the Plugin column, proceed to the next step.

  4. Click Activate in the Supplier column of the provider's row.

    • Note: Activated plugins are now available for use in the Background Check Wizard.

  5. The Select Supplier section is now accessible in the lower-left of the screen. Select a Staffing Supplier from the drop-down menu.

  6. Click the Active check box. 

  7. Select Save Subscription

  8. Branch locations for this Staffing Supplier are now populated in the Plugin Settings area. Enter the credentials (supplied by the background check provider) in the Custom Value column for each branch that will be using the integration. 

    • In the example below, the Minneapolis branch and the ABC Staffing employer will use the integration.

    • The Property Description column features "password" and "username" labels to show the row in which the usernames, passwords, and other credentials will be installed. 

    • Sort the table's column data alphabetically by clicking column headers (Owner Name, Node Type, etc.)

  9. Select Save Settings.

  10. Select the Plugin Packages tab. The Plugin Packages section will be displayed.

  11. Click the Package ID field and enter the Package ID value (supplied by the background check provider.)

  12. Click the Package Name field and enter a Package Name. 

  13. Click Save Package

    • Note: The entered plugin package now appears in Settings/Properties section and can be changed by clicking Edit.

  14. Repeat steps 11-13 for any additional packages you have configured with PeopleG2. 

  15. When finished, PeopleG2 and entered packages can be viewed and selected when creating a background check in by navigating to Start Page > Actions > Background Check Request or by navigating to Employee > Background Check




Disable Background Check Plugin or Remove a Subscription

  1. Disable a supplier by unchecking the box marked Active in the Select Supplier section. 

    • Note: This method will preserve all associated history and settings, but the subscription will be hidden in any relevant wizards or windows. 



Remove a Background Check Subscription

  1. In order to delete the subscription, click Delete Subscription on the bottom-left of the section. 

    • Note: Deleting a subscription will delete history and configuration for the selected staffing supplier. However to delete settings for all subscriptions for an employee screening provider, it must be uninstalled. 

  2. After clicking Delete Subscription, a confirmation message will appear asking if you wish to continue. Click Yes to remove the subscription.




Uninstall a Background Check Provider

  1. Click Uninstall at the top of the Background Check Plugins page to remove a background check provider.

    • Note: The plugin will remain present on the grid, even if uninstalled.
  2. After clicking Uninstall, a confirmation message will appear asking if you wish to continue. Click Yes to remove all subscriptions to the background check provider.

    • Note: This will remove the provider from the drop-down menu in the New Background Check Wizard.

After determining which background checks are necessary, PeopleG2 will then create personalized package(s) containing these background checks. The client will then be given configuration information for these packages for entry into Avionté. You may have multiple packages containing different combinations, however, PeopleG2 does not allow for more than one background check request per employee (per customer) unless otherwise agreed upon between you and PeopleG2.




Admin Tools

Use of PeopleG2 requires the configuration of settings in Avionté's Admin Tools.



Admin Tools: Configuration Settings

PeopleG2 will supply the following values to be used when initially configuring the integration.

Admin Tools: Config Options

Config Option Name Description
AllowOpenBackgroundCheckDocument  True: User will be able to view the returned report.
False: User will be able to see a report was returned, but cannot open and view it.
ShowBackgroundCheckActionRequiredNotification   True: An alert will display in the lower left-hand corner of the window when a background check requires attention. 
False: No alert will appear
AllowEditBackgroundCheckActionRequired  True: User will be ale to close a background check request after it has been viewed.
False: Employee will not be able to close a background check request submission.




PeopleG2 Background Check Prerequisites

A background check request will not work if certain fields on the employee's record are not completed. Ensure that the following fields are completed in the Avionté application.

The following process describes how to run a background check for an employee.

  1. After setup, navigate to Start Page > Actions menu > Background Check Request

  2. A list of employees with background check results populates. Click New Background Check in the upper-right. 

  3. The New Background Check window displays. Select "PeopleG2" from the Provider drop-down menu. 

  4. In the Relates To area, select Supplier, Customer, or Cost Center to narrow down the search results for an employee. 
    • Complete subsequent fields depending on what is chosen in the Relates To area. E.g., if Cost Center is selected, a Cost Center drop-down menu will prompt for a cost center number.

  5. Select an associated Package Name
    • The Package Name is a configuration of attributes the type of background check being run. Different packages can contain different attributes depending on the desired background check. 

  6. From the Background Check Selection area, select data from the available fields to generate employee search results.

  7. Click Finish. A background check will be performed by PeopleG2 and results will be made available in the list of employees with background checks.
