Overview of Tax Exemption Settings for Employees

In Avionté, there are two different methods to set an employee as exempt from one or more taxes. The decision to use one method over the other is determined by the reason an employee is considered tax exempt.

Tax Exempt Employees with a Taxable Wage

The first method sets tax exemptions for employees who are exempt from one or more taxes but still have a taxable wage. To use this method, visit Set Tax Exemptions for Employees Who Have a Taxable Wage.

Non-Citizen Employees

The second method sets tax exemptions for employees who are not citizens of the United States, have no taxable wage, and are truly exempt from all taxes, e.g., an employee who has an F-1 Visa or a Green Card. To use this method, visit Set Tax Exemptions for Employees Who Are Non-Citizens.
