NEW ETS ON VACCINATION AND TESTING

OSHA announced a new Emergency Temporary Standard on Vaccination and Testing regarding COVID-19. Here are four things you need to know:

  1. Employers with at least 100 employees will be required to adopt a mandatory vaccination policy unless they adopt a policy requiring unvaccinated workers to undergo weekly testing and wear a face covering at work.
  2. Covered employers must provide paid time for workers to get the COVID-19 vaccine and ensure workers have paid sick leave to recover from any side effects that prevent them from working.
  3. Employers must comply with most provisions by 30 days after the date of publication in the Federal Register, and comply with the testing requirement by 60 days after the date of publication in the Federal Register. Learn more about compliance dates here
  4. Businesses that don’t comply may face significant OSHA fines.

Although there is now a challenge to the rules in federal court, Avionté is working hard to ensure our clients have COVID-19 vaccine and testing tracking ability in our software, including a new functionality on the Talent record in Bold and best practices for utilizing the Certification submenu for Employees in Classic.  An update to BOLD is scheduled for release at the end of November that will enable recruiters to add vaccine tracking and test results to a new Certifications area on the Talent record.  Avionté is currently in final rounds of vetting a partner technology for an integrated automation of COVID-19 vaccine/test data verification. We will continue to provides updates in the release notes, Knowledge Base and next week’s BOLD Bulletin.
