Edit the default behavior of Job Posts, including resume requirements, job board distribution, and pay transparency enforcement, so every posting goes out configured the way your organization expects.
Edit the Job Post Configuration

- Click on Account & Settings
-
Click on Table Editor
- Click on the Jobs dropdown
- Select Job Post Configuration
- Select Yes or No for Require All Web Applicants to Upload a Resume
Pay Transparency Rules
The Pay Transparency Rules section of Job Post Configuration lets you define which states/provinces and job types require a salary range before a job posting can be submitted, so every posting from your organization meets applicable pay disclosure expectations. Once configured, BOLD enforces Min Pay Rate and Max Pay Rate as required fields at the time of posting for any job matching a configured rule.
Configure Pay Transparency Rules
- Within Job Post Configuration, navigate to the Pay Transparency Rules section
- Select the State/Province to apply enforcement to. Select All to enforce salary entry on every posting regardless of location
-
Select the Job Type(s) to apply enforcement to within the selected state (Contract, Contract To Perm, Permanent). Both the state and job type must match for enforcement to trigger on a posting.
- Save your configuration
How Enforcement Works
-
At job creation: If the job's worksite address is in a configured state, recruiters see a soft warning that salary information will be required before the job can be posted before posting the job.
-
At posting: Min Pay Rate and Max Pay Rate are required before the posting can be submitted. There is no bypass — postings without salary data are blocked from publishing.
- Job board transmission: Salary data flows automatically to Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and Google Jobs via native salary fields, keeping your postings compliant across every channel. For boards without structured salary field support, salary is appended to the job description.
Enforcement Trigger Priority
Enforcement is triggered by:
- Worksite location — primary trigger. If the job has a worksite address in a configured state, that's what drives enforcement.
Interaction with Career Page Pay Display Settings
The career page editor has its own Display Pay and Display Pay Range settings, which control whether compensation shows on your public job board for postings in general.
Pay Transparency Rules take priority over the Display Pay and Display Pay Range settings. If a posting matches a configured state and job type, the salary range displays on the job board even if Display Pay or Display Pay Range is set to Hidden. The Display Pay settings are meant for organizations choosing whether to voluntarily show compensation. They cannot be used to suppress salary information on a posting where disclosure is legally required.
