The Accrual Management feature in BOLD's Talent Profile consolidates all accrual-related information in one centralized location, eliminating the need to switch between BOLD and Back Office systems. This consolidation provides recruiters with real-time visibility into accrual configurations and balances, improving efficiency and enabling faster responses to talent inquiries.
Before You Begin
Ensure you have the appropriate accrual editing permissions configured in your user profile. See the User Permissions section below for details on required access levels.

Common Accrual Types
- Vacation/PTO: Paid time off for personal use
- Sick Leave: Time off for illness or medical appointments
- Personal Days: Additional personal time off
- Holiday: Designated company holidays

- Accrual Rate: Amount earned per pay period or hours worked
- Maximum Balance: Cap on total accrued time
- Manual Adjustments: One-time modifications to accrual balances

User Permissions
Access to Accrual Management features is controlled through user-level permissions. All users will be able to view accruals but will need appropriate permissions to edit and delete (if not tied to payroll) accrual configurations, as well as adding manual entries.

Accessing Accrual Management
Follow these steps to access Accrual Management in Talent Profile:
- Navigate to Talent Profile
- Select the Accrual tab
Accrual Tab
You can add new accrual records, edit existing accruals, and manage accrual parameters based on your permission level.
Viewing Accrual Information
The accrual display shows key information for each configured accrual type:

| Plan Name | Type of accrual (Vacation, Sick, PTO, etc.) |
| Rate | Rate at which time accrues |
| Balance | Available accrued time |
| Status | Indicates if the accrual is currently active |
| Supplier Name | Supplier the accrual is active for |
Adding Accrual Configuration
- Navigate to Accrual tab and click + New Accrual
- Complete the following fields:

Accrual Plan: Select the type of accrual (Required)
- Accrual plans that are added in the Admin Tools section of Classic Back Office will appear here. For more information on setting up accrual plans, please see the article here: Managing Accrual Plans and Balances
- Accrual Rate: Enter the accrual rate (Required)
- Start Date: Select when this configuration begins (Required)
- Additional Fields: Max Accrual Balance, Carryover Settings, Yearly Date Type, etc.

- Click Save
Editing Accrual Configuration
- Navigate to the Accrual tab within the employee profile.
- Click any existing accrual.
- You will be brought to the main details page where you can edit all fields you entered while creating the accrual.
Success or cancellation messages will display after you confirm or cancel your edits.
Accrual Hours Entry
Accrual Hours Entry allows you to make one-time modifications to accrual balances for corrections or special circumstances.
Adding an Entry
- Navigate to Accruals and locate the accrual you would like to add an entry for.
- Click the plus icon to the right of the accruals details.
- A pop-up will open. Complete the following fields within:
- Unit: Enter the adjustment (positive or negative) (Required)
- Effective Date: Select when the adjustment applies (Required)
- Notes: Provide explanation for the adjustment (Required)
- Click Save
Accrual History
The Accrual History tab provides a comprehensive view of all accrual transactions organized by accrual type and date, showing both accruals earned and time used.
Accessing Accrual History
- Navigate to Talent Profile and select the Accrual tab.
- Locate the accrual you would like to view the history for and click it.
- Click the History sub-tab at the top of the page that will open.
Understanding the Accrual History Display
Organization Structure
- Accrual types are listed as expandable sections
- Transactions are listed in chronological order (most recent first)
- Click on any accrual type to expand or collapse detailed transaction information
Transaction Information
The history display shows the following columns:
