How Do you Utilize Talent/Candidate/Applicant Tags in BOLD?

Which tags do you find most useful? How many tags do you add to records? How have you customized/configured your tags in the system?

  • We have quite a few tags we add to records.  Transportation, Shift Availability, Overtime Preferences, Lifting Ability, Notice Required, Foreign Language, Background Check Complete, and Drug Test Results, to name a few.

     

    We've been struggling with using these tags and are in talks of putting most of them on hold, because their expiration dates don't mean anything...A tag should be either removed once entire or not searchable.  

     

    We'll tag someone with a Passed Drug Test tag with an expiration date of 3 months, and 12 months later they'll still pull in a talent search for those with the Passed Drug Test tag.  We were told this was expected behavior, but I can't see why this would be done on purpose...What is the expiration date even for, then?

  • We use tags for tracking pre-employment screening renewal requirements. For example: 

    *Parent: Medical Requirements/Renewals

    Child: Annual Drug Screen

    Child: Annual Physical 

    Child: Respirator Fit Test 

    *Parent: Training Requirements/Renewals

    Child: Annual Site Orientation

    Filter the talent search for "expiring tags". This gives us a list of who is nearing expiration.
