Great question everyone.
On August 1, 2023, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services published a revised version of Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. The current version can be used until October 31, 2023. Read the full announcement on the USCIS website.
Avionté is reviewing the changes to the form for both the AviontéBOLD and Avionté AERO Adobe E-Signature I-9 as well as the CLASSIC I-9 e-Document. Once the updated form is available for BOLD, AERO and CLASSIC, we will notify clients via the BOLD Bulletin as well as release notes on the Knowledge Base.
I saw this question 9 days ago. I have the same question. When will the new Form I-9 be available? Our current one does not allow us to use the down anymore "ID's Physically Examined" with the date option. The new I-9 needs to have that option to document in the Employer box.
Any update on the revised version of the I-9 form for Classic clients?
Good Morning. Any idea when the new I-9 will be released. It would sure be nice and a time saver to use the drop down box of "Alternative Procedure" for those of us using E-Verify.
Hi everyone.
We are hoping to have the new form released before 10/31 but do not have an exact date yet. We will notify clients via BOLD Bulletin and release notes when this update has been made.
Just curious if there has been any progress made on this yet. We are required to start using the new form on November 1st. Obviously, using paper copies is an option, if necessary. It would just be nice to know ahead of time so we can be prepared since that is only a couple weeks out at this point and it is not available in BOLD, nor has there been any communication about it as of yet.
Morning. I see that you are hoping to release the new I9 Form by 10/31 in Bold which is the deadline. If you are not able to get it released by then, how are you suggesting your clients process new hires? Will we know before 10/31 if you aren't going to have it released by the deadline?
I agree with Jessica & Samantha, is there a way we can have an update of the release date? That way we can be prepared if we need to start using the paper I9's on 11/1.
Hi Laruen, an update would be beneficial for all of us.
I just went to the USCIS site (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9) and found the below. It is located under All Forms > Form Details > Edition Date. After reading this I'm thinking that this version is the new one, what do you all think?
Hi everyone.
We are on track to deploy the updated Adobe I-9 to clients by 10/27. The I-9 will include a couple of new features:
If you should have any questions on the above information, please create a ticket so we can provide instructions for your organization.
Has anyone else had issues with people filling the new forms out and having missing information. There are fields that are no longer required, such as the social security number field. I have to keep re-sending these to my candidates and letting them know that they do indeed need to put their SSN on the form. The state is also not a required field, but I'm more concerned with the SSN field at this point.
Yep! My front desk administrator let me know of this hurdle with it yesterday. I went into Adobe and changed the field mapping for SSN to show as required (I can't remember if State was showing required, if it wasn't, I fixed yesterday :P ).
I read that the SS# is only required if you E-Verify. So that might be why it is optional since not every company participates in E-Verify. But I agree, that is frustrating as we will end up spending more money on Adobe Signs. It would be great if they could make two different forms them, one with is required and one with it not required.
We reported the SSN not being required and this is the response from out ticket:
Hi Samantha,
I had to download the form and manually set it up to make those fields required. I believe it was the SSN, Email Address, and Telephone number that were not required. This is something you would probably need to make a ticket for so they could update it on their end, and you wouldn't have to do it manually.
I also have a ticket in because the USCIS A-Number does not show up on the form when the applicant fills it out. Not sure if you are experiencing the same thing?
Yes, we have noticed that, as well as the employee email address and phone number. It is also not populating our full company address.
Our state is required however the SS is not a requirement on the form.
Our company name and address is wrong as well
Should be First Call Temporary Services, Inc.
8733 Founders Rd
Tamara I also jumped into Adobe thinking I could just make those quick changes however the new I9 is not showing in templates?
Are you guys able to fill out section 2 after the employee finished the I9? We seem to not be able to fill anything out.
I have a ticket in because I can't find the new I9 in the Adobe templates either.
If our company does participate in E-verify, how can we make the SSN field required?
