Illinois will begin implementing a Paid Leave Act at the beginning of 2024. They act will have any employee who lives or works in IL be eligible to accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. There are other caveats to it. What I am looking for is any other organizations that operate in states that have similar type acts, who also use Back Office for payroll. I was wondering if you could share how, you go about administrating this. Avionte said we have to manually apply this in Back Office. This could get very daunting and time-consuming if you are a larger organization (over 200 employees let’s say). Any insights would be greatly appreciated. I am going to post in the BOLD forum also.

Good morning,
We have multiple sick plans and over 200 employees...it is setup under payroll / accrual in the employee file. when we enter the employees sick time in time entry it notifies us once we verify the batch if the employee has enough available sick time to use. i wasn't part of the initial setup...but looking in admin tool, employer, i see the accrual plans so your HR team/IT team can most likely work with Avionte support to get this setup the way you need it to be.
Thanks
Thank you for your response. Do you know if those transactions are entered manually on assignment or do you somehow have it automated?
Thanks
You are welcome. It depends...some assignments have the additional transaction including sick listed like in the attached example. Sadly others don't and we have to insert transaction type.
Thank you. I appreciate your help.
