Custom Fields Are Now in BOLD — No More System Switching! 🎉

Hey everyone!

If you're a Back Office Integrated customer, this one's for you. Custom Fields (known as Extras in Back Office) are now live directly in BOLD as of February 26, 2026, and this update is going to save you a lot of back and forth throughout your day.

Here's what was happening

You're in the middle of your workflow in BOLD and you need to check a billing code, a compliance certification, or a specialized qualification for a talent record. So you stop what you're doing, jump into Back Office, find what you need, and then find your way back. It's a small interruption that adds up fast when you're doing it all day long.

What's changed

That critical business data now lives right where you're already working. Custom Fields are accessible across BOLD for Back Office Integrated customers wherever you need them most.

Here's where to find them:

  • Talent Profile and Company Profile each have a new Custom Fields tab (this replaces the Tags tab for Back Office Integrated customers).
  • For Company Offices, head to Company Contacts and then Edit Office.
  • For Jobs, look for the Custom Fields widget on the Job Details page. And for Placements, you'll find it in Hired Details.

What you can do

From any of those locations you can view all configured custom fields and their current values, add new custom fields from the options available to your home office, edit existing values as business needs change, remove fields that are no longer needed, and track every change through a complete audit trail in both BOLD and Back Office.

A few things worth knowing

New custom field options still need to be created in Back Office Admin Tools first. The fields available to you are based on your home office configuration, so what you see may vary. Field formats and display options are controlled by Back Office Config Choice Property settings, and duplicate custom fields cannot be added to the same record.

Not a Back Office Integrated customer?

No changes for you! You'll continue to see the Tags tab and its existing functionality just as before.

This is one of those updates that quietly makes a big difference. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
