Duplicate Activities when emails have multiple recipients

Wow!  First thing I notice is this community area is not used.  There are about 6 posts in 3 years.

I would like to know if other have emails that get posted as activities multiple time depending on the number of people who are recipients of an email.  For example an email might be sent to several client contacts if an employee will be absent and also copied to internal employees. Typically, the email is sent via outlook and synched into Avionte.

We have noticed this produces multiple activities on the client contact, where there should only be one.

Anyone else see this?

  • Thanks for posting, Debby — welcome to the Community!

The forum is more active than it might appear at first glance. There are actually over 30 posts here, and a few client discussions within the last 10 months — including this one. You're right that most content comes from the Avionté team, though, and growing client-to-client conversation is something we'd genuinely love to see more of. Posts like yours help with that.

On your actual question: the behavior you're describing with Outlook-synced emails logging as multiple activities (one per recipient) is worth raising with our Support team directly if you haven't already, since they can dig into your specific sync configuration. That said, it's a great question to leave open here. If anyone else has run into this, this is exactly the kind of thing the forum is here for.

  • We have often seen this as a result of multiple internal team members also being on the email. Each internal person will sync the email when they receive it. I believe there are some options for filtering out emails from specific domains available to all customers but that would be something to cover when looking into this with the support team.
