Report Fields

Field Name

Explanation

There are different sections in the Healthcare Exposure Analysis report

Total Liability

This is a bar diagram which shows no of FT (Full time) employees and FT Equivalent employees

X – Axes

Number of Employees

This bar is divided into 2 portions: FT Employees (Blue) and FT Equivalent Employees (Green)

FT Employees: Employees who have worked for more than 30 hours per week

FT Equivalent: Number of Employees that would equate to a Full time employee from non-full time employees.

This number is calculated as: Total Hours of non-full time employees / (120 * Look Back period)

e.g.: If there are four employees; E1 works for 32 hours, E2, E3 and E4 works for ten hours each, then number of FT Employees = 1 and No of FT Equivalent employees = 3 as E2, E3 and E4 would work for 30 hours as one FT employee together.

Y – Axes

Look Back Period (3,6,9,12)

If there are no FT employees for period of 12 months, then the 12 month look back data is not shown even if there are non-FT employees

Trending to Full Time as

This is a pie chart which shows what portion of employees have worked against the threshold Hours. Threshold hours = 1560 hours ie: an employee’s total hours worked is what percent of 1560. [1560 by ACA]

There can be at max 5 sectors in a pie chart:

1.        Trending 25 Percent [Total Hours is between 25 to 50 percent of 1560]

2.        Trending 50 Percent [Total Hours is between 50 to 75 percent of 1560]

3.        Trending 75 Percent [Total Hours is between 75 to 90 percent of 1560]

4.        Trending 90 Percent [Total Hours is between 90 to 100 percent of 1560]

5.        Trending FT [Total Hours is above percent of 1560]

The numbers shown on pie chart are the actual number of employees that belong to a particular percent group

No Plan option

Look Back Period

Look Back period month number (3,6,9,12)

Max Penalty

If FT Employee count <= 80, then Max Penalty = 0

If FT Employee Count > 80, then Max Penalty = ((FT Employees – FT Allowances) * No Plan Penalty ) * Gross Up Tax

Where FT Allowances = 80 (set default)

No Plan Penalty = Annual Penalty Amount Value set in Config Option under Category = Healthcare and Property = PenaltyAnnualAmount

Gross Up Tax = Value passed in “Gross Up Tax %” parameter

Max Cost

Max Penalty / Total Hours

Look Back Period

Look Back period month number (3,6,9,12)

Exposure

(FT Employee Count * PCT FT Sub / 100 ) * Subsidy Penalty

Where PCT FT Sub = Value passed in “Percent FT Subsidy” parameter

Subsidy Penalty = Annual Subsidy Amount Value set in Config Option under Category = Healthcare and Property = SubsidyAnnualAmount

Cost Per Hour

Exposure / Total Hours

Employee Contribution Threshold

Look Back Period

Look Back period month number (3,6,9,12)

EE Contribution Threshold

Minimum Total Pay from all the Employees (Total pay of the employee receiving lowest amount)

EE Contribution Threshold Difference

EE Contribution Threshold – Employee Contribution from parameter

Special logic used in report

Only those pay codes are included in report for which Include in ACA Hours = True

Default values used in calculations:

Hours Threshold = 1560

FT Allowances = 80

No Penalty Amount = 2000

Subsidy Penalty = 3000

If Salary pay code is also setup as Include in ACA Hours = True, then the pay unit is converted in hourly equivalent using the Pay Period Multiplication factor:

'Hourly' THEN 1

'Daily' THEN 8

'Weekly' THEN 40

'BiWeekly' THEN 80

'SemiMonthly' THEN 86.66

'Monthly' THEN 173

'Yearly' THEN 2080
