Unbundled jobs allow talent to select individual shifts rather than committing to all shifts in a job order. This article explains how to create unbundled jobs in AviontéBOLD and distribute them to 24/7 WORK, where talent can view and express interest in available shifts.
For Bundled Job distribution, please refer to Distributing a Bundled Job to Avionté 24/7.
Key Takeaways
-
Unbundled Jobs
Unbundled jobs give talent flexibility to accept some shifts while declining others, rather than requiring commitment to all shifts.Example: If a job order is Monday through Friday, a worker can accept only Monday, Wednesday, and Friday without committing to the full week.
There are two types of unbundled scheduling:
- Standard Scheduling: Uses weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly cycles
-
Variable Scheduling: Uses custom repeat patterns for schedules that don't follow predictable weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly cycles
-
Talent Matching
Distributing to 24/7 WORK uses location and skill matching to connect the right talent with job opportunities. The system alerts talent based on their individual willingness to travel settings and only notifies those whose skills match the job requirements, saving time for both talent and recruiters. -
Shift Schedule Requirements
When creating unbundled jobs, you must configure a shift schedule that defines when and how often shifts occur. Variable scheduling uses custom repeat patterns to accommodate complex scheduling needs.
Required Fields for Unbundled Job Orders
When creating an unbundled job order, the following fields are required:
-
Start Date
Start Date is a matching criteria field as the job notification will only show to talent that are available during the dates of your job order. -
End Date
An End Date of one year or less is required for all unbundled jobs to distribute to the 24/7 app. -
Skill
The required skill on the job order are used as matching criteria for the skills on the talent’s profile in order for that talent to be notified of the job. -
Shift Schedule Widget
This widget is required for unbundled jobs and includes the following required fields:- Shift Days: The days of the week when shifts occur
- Start Time: When each shift begins
- End Time: When each shift ends
- End Date: When the job ends
-
Address
The Worksite Address must be within the set radius of the Talent’s address on their profile as it is used as matching criteria so Talent are only shown jobs within that radius.

Repeat Pattern Options
When configuring the Shift Schedule, you can choose how shifts repeat:
- Weekly: The schedule repeats every week
- Bi-weekly: The schedule repeats every other week (one week on, one week off)
- Monthly: The schedule repeats every four weeks
- Custom: Enables Variable Scheduling for schedules that change week to week or don't follow predictable weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly patterns

Standard Scheduling vs. Variable Scheduling for Unbundled Jobs
Both Standard and Variable scheduling allow you to configure:
- Different start times per day: Monday shifts start at 9:00 AM, Wednesday shifts start at 5:00 PM
- Different end times per day: Coordinate with varying start times for different shift lengths
- Different number of positions per shift: Need 3 workers on Monday, 5 workers on Wednesday
With both types, talent can choose which individual shifts to accept rather than committing to all shifts.
The key difference is the repeat pattern:
- Standard Scheduling
Use standard scheduling when shifts follow a predictable repeat pattern. Select Weekly, Bi-weekly, or Monthly as your repeat pattern.
Example: A warehouse needs forklift operators Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM every week. Talent can express interest in working only Mondays and Wednesdays if they prefer, rather than committing to all five days.
- Variable Scheduling
Use variable scheduling when shifts don't follow a predictable weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly pattern. Select Custom as your repeat pattern to create schedules that change from week to week or have irregular patterns.
Example: A hospital needs overnight RNs with schedules that change week to week based on patient census and staffing needs. Week 1 may have shifts Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, while Week 2 has shifts Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday from 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM with different staffing levels each night.
When creating different shifts, adjust your Start Time, End Time, Break Hours, and Position count (as applicable) before selecting the shift days on the calendar. In the example above, those parameters were set prior to selecting Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Those same parameters were then edited to reflect the different shift requirements before selecting the Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday shifts.

- Select Bird's Eye from the menu that appears
- Review the list of talent who have expressed interest in the shifts
- Assign talent to shifts using one of these methods:

Best Practices for Unbundled Jobs
Use Shift Schedule Templates
Set up templates for commonly used shift patterns to save time and ensure consistency across job orders. Templates reduce data entry errors and speed up job creation when you have recurring shift needs.
For more information, refer to this article on Shift Schedule Templates.
Use Job Order Templates
Create templates for frequently posted unbundled positions that include preset shift schedules, skills, and distribution settings. This is especially valuable when working with repeat clients or consistent staffing needs.
For more information, refer to this article on Custom Job Order Templates.
Use Variable Schedules When You Can't Templatize
When shifts don't follow predictable patterns and can't be standardized into templates, variable scheduling with custom repeat options provides the flexibility needed for complex client requirements.
