Understanding This Report
What
The Enhanced Talent Payroll Tax Detail with Pretax Report shows a tax-line-level breakdown of each talent's paychecks — gross wages, taxable gross, tax amount, and pretax deduction totals for 401K and Section 125 — alongside the talent's employer, region, office, and withholding type.
Why
Because taxes and pretax deductions are broken out by individual tax line per paycheck, you can audit exactly how a talent's withholding was calculated, confirm pretax deductions are reducing taxable gross correctly, and reconcile payroll tax totals down to the paycheck.
Who
This report is useful for payroll and tax teams auditing withholding calculations, back office staff investigating a specific talent's paycheck taxes, and finance teams reconciling 401K and Section 125 deduction totals.
Using Filters
Use the filters panel to narrow the report to the talent population, tax types, and time period you need.
| Filter Name | Options | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Division / Region / Office | Include all, or select specific divisions, regions, or offices | Filter by the talent's employer division, region, and office. These three filters work together as a hierarchy — narrowing Division narrows the available Region and Office choices. |
| Talent Name | Containing (free text) | Filter by talent name using a partial text match. |
| Tax Type | Include all, or select specific tax types | Filter by the type of tax on the talent's paycheck. |
| Accounting Period Date | Preset ranges (e.g., This Month) | Filter by the accounting period date of the talent's payment check. |
| Check Date | Include all, or select a preset range | Filter by the check date of the talent's payment check. |
Applying Your Filter Selections

- Toggle Include all off to choose specific divisions, regions, offices, or tax types — or enter text to narrow by Talent Name.
- Set Accounting Period Date and/or Check Date to the period you want to review.
- Use the toggle next to each filter to turn it on or off, or click the trash icon to remove a filter entirely.
Reading the Data
Each row in the report represents a single tax line on a talent's paycheck. A paycheck with five tax lines (for example, Federal Income Tax, FICA EE, FICA ER, Medicare, and a state withholding) will appear across five rows, each sharing the same Talent, Talent ID, and paycheck totals.

Practical Applications
- Audit withholding calculations — Review US Withholding Type alongside Tax Name and Tax Amount to confirm a talent's taxes were calculated correctly.
- Reconcile pretax deductions — Compare Gross Wages, Subject Gross, and Taxable Gross to confirm 401K and Section 125 deductions are reducing taxable gross as expected.
- Jump straight to a talent's record — Use the Talent Link field to open the talent directly instead of searching for them separately.
- Review by division, region, or office — Use the Division/Region/Office hierarchy to review payroll tax detail for a specific part of your organization.
