Clearing Cache and Cookies on Common Internet Browsers and Mobile Devices

For the best experience with Avionte's software, we recommend using Google Chrome and ensuring it is up to date. When you use a browser, like Chrome, it saves some information from websites in its cache and cookies. Clearing them fixes certain problems, like loading or formatting issues on sites.

How to clear cache in Google Chrome:

  4. Check-mark Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
  5. Select Clear Data.
  6. Close your browser and restart to see changes.

How to clear cache on the latest iOS device:

  1. Go to the app's Settings
  2. Scroll to the list of installed apps
  3. Tap the app you want to clear
  4. Look for the option to Clear cache, Clear data, or Clear storage
  5. If there's no option to clear the cache automatically, tap Delete App

Please note: Some apps may have a direct option to clear their cache from within the app's settings. For example, in Twitter, you can go to Settings and Support, then Settings and Privacy, then Accessibility, then Display, then Languages, then Data Usage, and then Media Storage or Web Storage.

You can also clear the cache by offloading an app, which uninstalls the app but keeps its documents and data. Both options can help free up storage space.

You can also try restarting your iPhone to clear some cache files.

How to clear cache on latest android device (Samsung is the base example here since that is the most common android used):

  1. Swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Apps
  4. Select the app you want to clear
  5. Select Storage
  6. Select Clear cache at the bottom

Please note: You can also clear the cache for an app by going to Settings, then Apps, selecting the app, then Storage, and finally Clear cache.

Samsung Galaxy phones use a cache to store temporary app files. If an app is crashing or behaving badly, you can try clearing its cache. However, the cache can become bloated and take up excess space, or even slow down the phone.

Login-Specific Troubleshooting

The steps above cover general cache-clearing mechanics. If the specific symptom you're chasing is a login problem (Avionte login screen not loading, stuck on a spinner, login page blank/blocked, or credentials rejected after a page seems to load incorrectly), the following diagnosis path goes further than "just clear the cache":

  • Confirm the symptom is really cache-related. Try an incognito/private window first. If the login screen loads correctly in incognito, it's a local browser cache/cookie/extension issue — proceed with the standard clearing steps above.
  • If incognito shows the same broken login screen, it is not a local cache problem, and repeating cache-clearing steps will not fix it. Check for a browser extension interfering with the login form (ad blockers and privacy extensions are common culprits), or try a different browser entirely to isolate the issue.
  • Check the Avionté status page for any active incident before assuming it's a local, device-specific problem.

If clearing your own browser cache doesn't help and the Avionté status page shows nothing, it may be a short-lived server-side issue — try again in a few minutes before repeating local cache-clearing steps.

Real example: one customer had already cleared cache and cookies correctly, following the standard steps above, but the login screen still would not load. The actual cause turned out to be a brief server-side caching issue affecting all users, not anything local to that customer's browser. It self-resolved in about 25 minutes with no further action needed on the customer's end.
